Therapeutic Class: Nutritional Supplement
Each 1000 ml emulsion contain:
- The active substances in 1000 ml Liposole MCT/LCT 20 % are:
Medium-chain triglycerides 100.0 g
Soya-bean oil, refined 100.0 g
The other ingredients are:
- Glycerol
- Egg lecithin
- α-tocopherol
- Sodium oleate
- Water for injection
The amount of energy supplied per litre of Liposole MCT/LCT 20 % is 7990 kJ (1908 kcal).
Indications:
- Treatment of hyperalimentation
- Supply of essential fatty acids as part of complete parenteral nutrition when oral or enteral nutrition is impossible, insufficient or contraindicated.
- Liposole® MCT/LCT 20% is indicated in adults, preterm and term neonates, infants and toddlers, children and adolescents.

Dosage and Administration:
- Administered as IV solution. The amount (dose) and the drop (or infusion) rate of the fat emulsion is adjusted according to patient needs and body weight. Liposole MCT/LCT 20 % will normally be given over a period of 1 week.
- It may be given for a longer period time if thought necessary by doctor recommendation.
- Liposole can be administered separately via central and peripheral venous administration to infants in accordance with the approved indications and clinical guidelines.
